Answering · Quoting · Chasing · Re-typing. Taken off you, for a fixed price.

The same job, every week,
done by hand.

You answer the same questions every day. You type the same details into two different systems. You build the same report every Friday. We write small bits of software that do those jobs instead. The prices are on this page, and you get a fixed quote before we start. Nothing to sign up to afterwards.

Who rings us
We build for owner-run UK businesses of roughly five to fifty people, usually the ones where one person is quietly doing three jobs and this is their first time buying software like this.
What we take off them
We take off the jobs that repeat: answering the same customer questions out of hours, drafting quotes from your own prices, chasing unpaid invoices, and re-typing details from one system into another.
Cheapest way in
We start at £300 for a chatbot and from £500 for a single automation, with the whole starter band fixed at £300–£1,500 and agreed in writing before we start.
Where we are
We are two people based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and we work with businesses anywhere in the United Kingdom — most of our clients we have never met in person.
What people ask us for

The same eight jobs, over and over.

  1. 01

Customer emails you at midnight → chatbot answers, books them in, your calendar fills itself

  2. 02

Messy inbox → read and sorted, summarised, filed where it belongs

  3. 03

New enquiry → straight into your CRM, with a nudge to your phone

  4. 04

Quote requests → the quote gets drafted, you check it, one click sends it

  5. 05

Weekly report → writes itself from your sheets and lands in inboxes on schedule

  6. 06

WhatsApp enquiries → answered, qualified, booked — without you touching your phone

  7. 07

Invoices → chased politely and automatically, so you never have to be the bad guy

  8. 08

That spreadsheet job someone does every Friday → gone by next Friday

What we build

Most people
start down here.

One job, one price, finished in a week or two. You get the price in writing before we start, and if it takes us longer than we thought that is our problem, not your invoice. One price, agreed before we start. You own what we build, and nothing is charged monthly unless you later ask for the support plan.

All three sit inside the starter band — £300–£1,500, fixed. One price, agreed before we start. You own what we build, and nothing is charged monthly unless you later ask for the support plan.

When it is bigger than that

The rest of the ladder, same rule: price first.

Buying something off the list above? You do not need an audit. The audit is for when you already know something bigger has to be built and the question is which part to build first.

  • £499Process audit. Two days following how the work actually moves through your business, ending in a written list of what to build, in what order, with a fixed price against each line. Taken off the bill in full against any build of £3,000 or more that starts within 60 days. No invoice unless those two days find you five hours a week or more worth automating.
  • from £3,000Custom build. A whole process built end to end across the systems you already run, tested, handed over and documented. Two to six weeks, quoted as one fixed price after scoping.
  • from £8,000Multi-agent system. Several pieces working to each other — one reads, one decides, one acts — with every handover logged and a person approving anything that touches money or a promise to a customer.
  • £150/mo per systemSupport plan. Someone watching the thing we built you, and fixing it when the world around it moves — an API changes, a website it reads gets redesigned. Two small changes a month. Rolling, no minimum term.

Real businesses, real systems. Each one says where it has got to: live, being tested, or still being built. Every number here was measured. Where we have not measured something, we say so instead of making one up.

Two companies in the same group, each with its own accounting system, and no way to see the whole picture without exporting from both and doing it by hand. Only one of the two systems even had a way to plug into it. The hard part was not building the view. It was proving it: every figure is checked against the accounting system's own report, cost centre by cost centre, down to the penny. Where something does not match, the dashboard says so rather than quietly picking a number.

Client anonymised at their request. Their name, their industry and every figure belonging to their business stay off this page. What is here is how it works, and the proof that the numbers add up.

AI makes up court cases that do not exist. In a legal document that is not a typo, it is a serious problem. So this one only writes from the documents the solicitor has uploaded, and checks every case and every fact back against those files. Anything it cannot find gets flagged on the page. A document with flags still on it cannot be sent to a client.

In testing with the firm and being used on real cases. We have not measured the time saved yet. A qualified solicitor still reads everything before it goes anywhere.

A matching engine we are building, starting with founders and investors. The rule we set ourselves: it has to give three reasons for a match and one against, and each reason has to point at something real about that investor. If it cannot, the match does not count. The database and the scoring are done. The rest is not.

Still being built, and shown here as exactly that. We will publish how well it works once it is finished.

A site where families build memory books, family trees and memorials. It came over from a previous agency and had more or less stopped moving, and part of the job was getting the hosting into Clive's own name. Before building anything new we went through the code properly: 22 things worth fixing, each one checked against the actual code before it went on an invoice. The worst was a way past the login on pages that were meant to be protected. That was closed in the first week. The whole scoped brief was delivered inside a week, with a few extras thrown in at no charge.

The login problem was fixed in the first week and is described here without any detail that would help anyone. We have not put a figure on how much faster things move now than under the previous arrangement, because we could not verify one.

Who you'll be dealing with

Two blokes. One writes the code.

AI Guys is Ben and Kieron. Kieron looks after the sales side, so he is who you meet first. Ben writes every line of the code, and has spent ten years building software that has to keep working when nobody is watching it.

Two people, and one of them is the one building your thing. You explain the problem to Ben directly rather than to someone who will relay it. You get a price in writing. When you want it changed next year, you ring the same pair.

Based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Most of our clients are elsewhere in the UK and we have never met them in person. Ben trades under a second name as well, and the about page says which rather than leaving you to work it out.

Fair questions

Things people ask before getting in touch.

Are you really called AI Guys?+

Yes. It is short, it is honest and it fits on an invoice. It is the two of us: Kieron, who looks after the sales side, and Ben, who has spent over ten years writing software and builds everything we sell. Who owns what, and what else Ben runs, is set out plainly on the about page.

Who actually does the work?+

Ben does. Kieron will probably be the one you speak to first, but the person writing your code is on the call too, so nothing gets lost in the middle and nobody hands your job to a junior once you have signed. It is also why £300 is a real price rather than a loss leader.

We are a small business. Is this really for us?+

It is mostly what we do. Sole traders, family firms, businesses where one person is doing three jobs. You do not need an IT department or a budget for consultants. If a task is repetitive and happens on a screen, there is a fair chance we can take it off you for a few hundred pounds.

What could this actually do for my business?+

The dull jobs, properly. Answer customer questions on your website or WhatsApp at any hour. Sort your inbox. Draft quotes and replies for you to check. Chase invoices politely. Move information between systems so you stop typing it twice. Turn a spreadsheet into a report that writes itself.

What does it cost?+

The prices are on this page, like a normal trade. Chatbots £300 and single automations from £500 — both inside the starter band, £300–£1,500, all fixed and agreed before we start. If it takes longer than we thought, that is our problem, not your invoice. A whole process built end to end is a custom build, from £3,000, worked out on a call.

How long does it take?+

A chatbot or a single automation is usually running within a week or two of us getting what we need from you. Workflows take two to four weeks. Anything bigger depends on the job, and you get a date along with the price.

Is this all a bit of a fad?+

A lot of the industry is, yes. That is why we sell working software rather than a strategy document. We will also talk you out of it where it does not fit. Plenty of jobs are still done better by a person or a boring old script, and we would rather say so than take your money.

What happens once it is finished?+

You get instructions a normal person can read, a walkthrough for anyone who needs it, and 30 days of support after it goes live. After that most people run it themselves — you own it. If you would rather not, the support plan is £150/mo per system and you can stop whenever you like. The support plan starts when the 30 days included with every build run out. Nothing is charged before that. Nothing in the starter band has it attached by default.
