Summary: We collect your name, email, and message when you contact us. We use it only to respond to your enquiry. We don't sell your data, and we never will.
AI Guys is a trading name operated by a sole trader based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, who also trades as The Automation Agency (automation-agency.co.uk). Both names reach the same data controller. We build chatbots, automations and small business tools for companies across the UK.
Contact: the contact form at ai-guys.co.uk
When you submit our contact form or the seven-question shortlist form: your name, email, company name (optional), and the details you give about your business and processes. Your submission is stored in our own database and delivered to us as a private Telegram message so we see it straight away. It is stored first, so that a delivery failure cannot lose your enquiry. It is not used to train AI models, and no automated reply is generated from it — a person reads it and replies.
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is first-party and uses no cookie to identify you. What it records against each page view is the time, the page, where you came from, your rough location from your IP (country, region, city), and your browser, operating system and device type. It does not store your IP address and it does not build a profile that follows you between sites. Visitors are counted from a hash of the request, discarded after 24 hours.
We also record where you came from: any campaign tags on the link you followed, the site that referred you, the page you landed on, and — if you arrived from an advert — the advertising click identifier in that link. All of it is kept for the duration of your visit in your browser's session storage, not in a cookie, and attached to your enquiry if you send one. It tells us which advert or page produced it. None of it identifies you.
If you book a call through the embedded Calendly scheduler, Calendly processes the details you enter under its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies — see our Cookie Policy.
We use your contact details to respond to your enquiry and, where a project proceeds, to fulfil our contract with you. Our legal basis is legitimate interests for enquiry responses, and contract performance for client work.
Only the service providers needed to run this site and respond to you: Vercel (hosting, and the analytics described above), Neon (secure storage of your enquiry), Telegram (delivering it to us), and Calendly (booking, only if you use it). We never sell your data to anyone.
If you arrived from an advert, the ad platform (Meta or Google) is told that the click it sold us turned into an enquiry. What goes back is the click identifier that platform put in the link you followed — nothing else. Not your name, not your email, not a hashed version of either, not your IP address. A click identifier identifies the click, not you, and it is the reason we can do this without setting a single cookie or asking you to dismiss a banner. If you did not arrive from an advert, nothing is sent to anyone.
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, and deleted when no longer relevant. Client project records are kept for 6 years to meet UK tax and legal obligations.
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or stop processing your personal data at any time. Send the request through the contact form and we'll sort it — usually within a few days, always within a month. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
